About the Star Rowing Club...
This is the venue for the courses, on the picturesque bank of the
River Great Ouse in Bedford.
It is a comfortable and quiet setting for learning. There is a classroom for the presentations and plenty of other space for those who wish to sit alone, with more elbow space, for the essay writing practice. There is also comfortable seating for the more relaxed break times when tea, coffee and biscuits are served.

It is 5 minutes walk from the Bedford Train station, and even less from the
Bus station.
It has free car parking facilities
During the course, tea and coffee and other refreshments are available throughout the day.
For lunch, the choice is yours. There is a coffee/sandwich bar just across the road. Additionally, since the Star Rowing Club is right in the
town centre of Bedford, there are many pubs serving snacks and bar meals at
lunchtime, as well as a whole host of restaurants and cafes ranging from
MacDonald's, Pizza Hut and Nandos, to high class cordon bleu restaurants. All
are just a few minutes walk away. Several places nearby specialize in
dietary requirements such as vegetarian, Halal etc.

About Bedford...
 Bedford is the county town of Bedfordshire. This pleasant river-side town,
situated near to London, Oxford and Cambridge, has many places to see, and no
end of facilities for cultural and leisure pursuits.
For those staying in the town in the evenings, Bedford is renowned for its pubs and clubs and night-time entertainment, and with plenty of like-minded people on the course, you won't be wanting for social partners.
For the Thursday night however, if you are traveling by public transport to the exam venues at either Gatwick or Oxford, we suggest you make your way to your chosen exam venue (Gatwick or Oxford) to take advantage of the off-peak travel rates, and arrange accommodation near to the exam centre in advance, for the Thursday night.
If your exam venue is the Shuttleworth College (and we recommend you book that one) just outside Bedford, then this is just 5-10 minutes away by car. A limited number of car lifts can be arranged on the Friday of the exam, for those who do not have their own transport.

We recommend the following (based on value for money / walking distance to classroom location / proximity to amenities (pubs mainly) / past student recommendations):
Bethany House (10 minutes walk)
Embankment Hotel (5 minutes riverside walk)
De Parys Hotel (10 minutes Walk)
The Shakespeare Hotel (10 minutes walk)
Premier Inn (10 minutes park and riverside walk)
We strongly recommend that you book your hotel well in advance. If you leave it two weeks or less, prior to the course, only the expensive and/or out-of-town hotels will be your remaining option - BE WARNED!
Any Hotel or B+B with postcode MK40 is easy walking distance to the course venue.
Internet Access...
If you need to get internet access whilst you stay in Bedford (to stay in touch or use club66pro.co.uk, then the Bedford Public Library (in the Town centre) is your best bet. It is FREE access, open until 9.00 pm Monday, Wednesday and Thursday (6.00 pm Tuesday).
They also have a FREE wireless (hotspot) service if you want to take your own (wireless enabled) laptop.
